Gridshells: Vladimir Shukhov, Buckminster Fuller & Norman Foster
The book «Gridshells» explores the load-bearing building structures that have become widespread in the progressive architecture of the 21st century, using the example of three absolute architectural geniuses: Vladimir Shukhov, Buckminster Fuller and Norman Foster. Load-bearing gridshells are made of metals, composite materials and wood. Until the middle of the twentieth century, load-bearing gridshells were rarely used due to the complexity of the calculation, increased requirements for the quality of materials and compliance with installation technologies.
